Ski goggles are important for keeping your eyes safe from the reflecting snow, also from the wind and flying snow which can hurt your eyes while on the way down the slopes. In order to be able to get the right goggles, you have to consider three things: they should fit comfortably, have the right frame features for your protection and have the right lens color for the type of weather you will be going in to.

To check if a pair of ski goggles fit well on you, put them on along with your ski helmet and see if the goggles stretch just right around your head without putting too much pressure around your eyes. They should not bend and they should feel comfortable to wear. They should also cover a wide angle to make you see landscape which is crucial while you are skiing fast. For the frame, check if your goggles are made of durable yet flexible material and if they have air vents. Air vents prevent the heat from your face from fogging up the lenses even in high altitudes. The frame also should not let air get in between the lens and your face to avoid drying up your eyes. Lastly, choose the right lens color so if you will be skiing on a very bright snowy place, better prefer goggles with polarized colored lenses. In my case, I do prefer the polarized tinted ones because they are much cooler for my eyes.

Also, lens colors can give you different effects. You can have a choice among the lemon/yellow lenses, vermillion/pink lenses, citrus/orange lenses, modulator/photochromic lenses and polarized lenses. Lemon and vermillion lenses increase your view’s contrast and make the view clearer during cloudy days. Citrus lenses also increase contrast but they are darker and more suitable for brighter days. If you want lenses that will give you just the right amount of contrast for both stormy and sunny days, you should go for modulator lenses. Lastly, polarized lenses are great for reducing the glare on snow and ice.

With that, here are some of the best ski goggles you can choose from to give you great views and eye protection this winter season.
