Hello my name is +Brian Slater   Firstly I would like to welcome you to my profile page here at Hubpages and I hope you enjoy reading my articles.

 I came across hubpages by chance when I was searching for informatiom about writing on line and wanting to build my own website. I joined the next day and haven't looked back since. As I'm a family man you can find articles on here about just about anything, holidays, places to see, DIY, home improvements and my love of gardening.

 I am a happily married man and a father.  I am semi-retired, in my mid 50's and an ex- Mechanical Engineer who has worked for over 30 years working in the pharmaceutical, production,  engineering and manufacturing  industries. 

 I have always loved cycling and mountain biking and you will find many articles here on biking and bike accessories to read on this site. I also enjoy gardening and there are some great articles on how to improve and enhance your own garden. I'm passionate about growing organic fruit and vegetables, many of which I grow in containers, so be sure to check these out.  I also enjoy reading and following other writers here at hubpages, but most of all I love to write, particularly articles on subjects that I know about.

I have an interest in most sports and have tried most things except I wouldn't want to try bungy jumping or jump out of a aeroplane, buts that's just me. This gives me an all round knowledge and an ability to write articles authoritively about a whole range of subjects.

I write on hubpages as it is an excellent platform to write from and you can earn money by doing so. One other thing I strongly suggest that you do after you have joined hubpages and that is you actively participate by joining in the forums, here you can ask questions, get answers and help from other writers.
